how to add tilesets to rpg maker mv

Hey

How do you upload a custom tileset? Unfortunately, the tileset is probably in the wrong size (768x768). I was told to put it in the E folder which worked with almost every size, but I'm pretty sure it was removed in the latest update.

A solution to this?

You mixed up a few things - there never was an E folder, and probably never will be.

You upload the tilesheets into the tileset folder (and 768x768 should be correct for the upper layer tilesheets ov MV), then go to the database -tilesets and activate the tilesheet by selecting it in one of the tileset slots - that format should work in any of the B-E slots of MV.

Do I need to name it anything specific? And also, what do these tileset slots look like? All I see is this:

I am on a mac, by the way.

In suggest that you follow the link to the starting point in my signature - it was written for Ace, but goes for MV as well.
That will teach you the basics, because you're completely missing that tilesets are defined in the database and not in the resource manager.

Oh my gosh, I totally overlooked the database. I don't remember things by names, but only by what they do. I looked at the database once and I realised it was somewhere you generate actors, edit spells etc.

As for double posting, sorry. I come from a slum forum.

For a tileset they can be named whatever you want. If the tiles are in the right folder in your project folder then you don't need to import them. Just go to the tileset tab of the database. The slots are there.

So, I don't see a tilesets folder anywhere on my pc. Are they going into the project folder? Thanks! OK disregard! I found it! It's in the project folder created by RPG maker, not the one I created myself...
